At Greenbriar Elementary, we utilize the workshop framework for reading/language arts and math instruction. In this framework, instruction includes a mini-lesson, independent work and practice time, and the opportunity for students to share their work and processes. Additionally, we offer specialized programs for students that focus on emotional support, life skills, and high-ability clusters for students in third through fifth grades. A variety of tutoring programs are available to help students grow, including math tutoring and additional assistance for our English Language Learners.
A variety of after-school clubs are available at Greenbriar Elementary at different times throughout the school year, including Wilderness Club for our fifth graders, offered in partnership with Camptown. In this club, students are provided with opportunities to acquire self-reliance skills that can be transferred into real-world situations. Additionally, students can participate in ProAct, focusing on social justice issues and helping to find solutions within our community.
Greenbriar Elementary partners with area churches and community centers to offer elementary youth sports programs as well.
