Parent/Teacher Conferences 10/12-10/23

Parent/teacher conferences will begin when we come back from fall break for grades K-5. The students and staff have been working hard during the 1st nine weeks of school.  We encourage your child to attend to show their data and share what they will be working on for the next nine weeks. It is important for students to take ownership in their learning. If you have not signed up to attend a conference, please contact your child’s teacher. Report cards will be given to the parent during the conferences.

Here are some helpful tips on making conferences successful:

  • Ask your child if there is anything that he would like you to discuss with the teacher.
  • Jot down everything that you want to talk about at the conference.
  • Arrive promptly or a few minutes early.
  • Begin with positive comments about the teacher or classroom.
  • Avoid lengthy discussions of topics that are not related to the purpose of the conference.
  • Be open to suggestions from the teacher.
  • Take notes about what has been discussed and share them with your child.
  • Express appreciation for the conference.
  • Stay in communication with the teacher all year.
